Pup hit by car on I-285 passes away

UPDATE: Sad news to report that Jade passed away on Sunday morning. According to Amy Ryan, she was breathing on her own, walking, kissing and eating, then suddenly, gone. It is still a mystery as to why Jade passed suddenly.

Jade will be cremated at Paws Whiskers and Wags on Monday at 3:45 p.m. "Anyone is welcome to attend her service. She is a light that will never go out. Thank you to everyone for your help and prayers. If any of the funds are left over, they will be used to treat another stray that I have picked up who is heartworm positive."

This darling little girl was hit by a car on I-285 this week.

Amy Ryan, the organizer of the dog's fundraiser page, said that nobody was stopping and she couldn't get up. "An amazing woman pulled her car over and ran into traffic and grabbed her to get her out of harm's way. The pup needed immediate attention and she needed help. Her femur is broken in two places and she needed to have surgery in the next few days to save her back leg. She's only 6-7 months old and just as sweet as can be. "

The dog, named Jade, needed emergency surgery on Thursday at Clairmont Animal Hospital. "We almost lost her a few times on the table, but Dr. Smith and his assistants stayed by Jade's side and pulled through a miraculous surgery," said Ryan.

If all goes well, Jade will have her broken femur fixed on Saturday. "She was wagging her tail and giving kisses this morning."
