Michael Turner pleads guilty for role in death of Colton Turner

*Update 2/26* Michael Turner pleads guilty for his role in the death of Colton Turner. He will serve 20 years in prison and will credit for time served.

Turner's guilty plea is to lesser charges. FOX 7's Noelle Newton will have more on the story on FOX 7 News at Noon.

This is an update to a previous story. The original is as follows:

The family of Colton Turner has confirmed to FOX 7's Elizabeth Saab, Michael Turner, a suspect in the murder case of Colton Turner, will plead guilty to his involvement in the crime.

Sources said the deal is for 20 years and the plea will be accepted on Friday.

What this means for the child's mother's trial is unknown. Meagan Work is facing felony charges for the death of her son.

A judge ruled some of the evidence in that case will be thrown out. The D.A.'s office is fighting that. Her trial is expected to get underway in the next month or so.

The two year-old's remains were found in a South East Austin grave last September. Police said he had been buried there since July. Meagan Work, the victim's mother, was taken in for questioning after pictures of the bruised toddler were brought to Cedar Park Police.

Police said, in separate interviews, both Work and Turner admitted to burying the child in July after he suffered a blow to the head.

The D.A.'s Office nor Michael Turner's attorney, Steven Todd, have confirmed the deal.

This is a developing story and we will have the latest details as they become available.
