Survivor of tragic UGA car crash discharged from Shepherd Center

ATLANTA - Agnes Kim, the survivor of a car crash that killed four University of Georgia students in April, has been discharged from Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Kim has been undergoing inpatient rehabilitation for a brain injury from the April 27 wreck. The 22-year-old received intense treatment and was released from the facility on Wednesday.

According to Shepherd Center, Kim was discharged to her home and will continue rehab in the Day Program at Shepherd Pathways. The Decatur location is Shepherd Center's outpatient rehab program for people recovering from brain injuries.

The tragic crash Kim was injured in killed Kayla Canado, Britney Feldman, Christina Semeria and Halle Scott. The car Kim was driving crossed a center line and hit another vehicle in Oconee County. A woman in the second car was also injured.

"Ms. Kim's family is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community; however, they continue to request privacy," Shepherd Center said in a news release.

Kim's friends set up a YouCaring page to help raise money for medical expenses and to provide updates as she recovers. The donation portion of the page has been closed, but visitors can go there for continued updates or to leave messages of encouragement.
