Police: UCLA campus shooting a murder-suicide

- Police confirm two people killed at the University of California, Los Angeles and they're calling the deaths a murder-suicide.

Campus media relations officer Rebecca Kendall says police were on scene Wednesday morning at Boelter Hall, a science building. 

FOX News reports the shooter was wearing all black and the LAPD is responding to the scene. LAPD also confirms that there are two victims.

Just after 11 a.m. PT, police confirmed that two people were killed.

According to FOX LA's Gigi Graciette, sources said a suicide note was found near the two people were found. Graciette reports that police are still treating it as an active shooter until the building is cleared.

The entire campus was placed on lockdown and students were advised to shelter in place. A large number of police and fire units swarmed to the Westwood campus, and paramedics were seen standing by with gurneys.

The Los Angeles Police Department went on a tactical alert in response to the shooting reports.

The Daily Bruin, the UCLA campus newspaper, reported via Twitter that "many professors (are) being asked by administrators to cancel classes in the next few hours and email students.''

Police said around noon PT that the campus was safe and there is no threat to students or staff.
