Valley dance students perform with Katy Perry

One day after the Super Bowl and FOX 10 has learned that some of the dancers on the field during Katy Perry's halftime show were valley students.

The dancers from Desert Vista High School took part in the show, a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"It was amazing, it was such an incredible experience we had the opportunity to do," said one student.

"We did the Pepsi logo in the beginning, and we were in the fireworks finale, so we were dancing real close with Katy," said another student.

The team is made up of mostly juniors and seniors and were chosen to perform with the pop star. The team rehearsed with Perry last week.

"When we started we had exact choreography, so no one was confused, and it was just a really cool experience," said one of the students.

So how did the team get chosen to perform?

"I received a couple of e-mails from the Super Bowl Casting Committee saying they had heard about our dance company, so they asked me to submit an audition video," said Bianca, the team's teacher.

The Desert Vista Team participated in the event with other valley high school dance teams, a fun night full of memories.
