Cameron Danesh, a student at On-Track Tutoring & Academy, is competing in the National Geography Bee.
He can't name some of his favorite spots, because a laminated piece of paper on the wall comes to life.
"I've been to Canada, to the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Italy," said Cameron Danesh.
And if Cameron hasn't set foot there, he plans to visit. But first he's competing in the National Geography Bee in Washington D.C.
"My family, they say they feel proud, my sister keeps bragging and stuff, it's kind of annoying," he said.
"I'm anxious, but also excited, and my husband because he studies with him, and says he knows this one," said Marjan Talle.
Talle is Cameron's mother, and says her son and husband work each and every night to know every inch of the globe, like it was theirs.
They study the cities, the rivers, and everything in between.
"It all started when he was five and he would look at maps, and he was so inspired. And then he'd look at countries, and he was interested in countries cultures," she said.
Big aspirations from this 13-year-old who studies the beauties of the world over, but still an Arizona kid at heart.
"I go to California every summer," said Danesh.
The typical visit to the beach still makes this kid happy.
