Weather service says low cloud cover was not a tornado

The National Weather Service of Phoenix says low-hanging cloud formations may look like a funnel cloud, but says they have no reports of tornadoes in the Valley.

Several FOX 10 viewers shared their photos of the unusual cloud formations that resemble funnel clouds hanging over the East Valley on Saturday morning.

Many of these photos have been circulating on social media, and workers at the National Weather Service say they've seen these photos on-line. They say there were a lot of low-hanging clouds and none of those clouds made any connection to the ground.

The National Weather Service says they appear to be essentially ominous-looking clouds.
