Yavapai officials seek information about woman's mysterious death

Detectives with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department are hoping people will come forward with information about a woman's mysterious death.

Deputies located the body of 23-year-old Jennifer Holgate on Thursday June 11 in a drainage canal located in the 2600 block of Mongini Lane in Bridgeport, Cottonwood, Arizona.

Holgate is from Prescott Valley, but deputies believe she traveled back and forth between Prescott Valley and Cottonwood over the last few days of her life.

During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned that Holgate was released from the Camp Verde Detention Center around 5:00 p.m. June 9th.  She was in jail for two days after being arrested on a misdemeanor warrant, according to Dwight D'Evelyn with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department.

Detectives are urging people who knew Holgate to come forward, especially anyone who had contact with her in the days following her release from jail.
