Arizona Secretary of State certifies election results

PHOENIX (AP) -- With Gov. Doug Ducey out of state, Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan has officially certified the Nov. 8 general election results.

Monday's canvass saw Reagan signing the documents as acting governor because Ducey is in Hawaii for Pearl Harbor Day ceremonies. Deputy Secretary of State Lee Miller signed for the secretary of state at the ceremony overseen by Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Scott Bales and Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

President-elect Donald Trump won the state by about 3 ½ percentage points over Democrat Hillary Clinton in an election that also saw Republican John McCain elected to a sixth term.

The state Legislature will remain in Republican hands but with a slightly smaller 34-26 GOP House majority and a 17-13 Senate edge.
