Presidential race heats up in Arizona

Several presidential candidates are visiting the valley this weekend.

Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are holding rallies on Saturday. Hillary Clinton is expected to hold an event on Monday. On Friday night, Ted Cruz will be here.

Cruz will be joined by former Governor Rick Perry and TV commentator Glenn Beck. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the event starts at 7:00 p.m.

Cruz and Perry will also tour the border on Friday with Arizona House Speaker David Gowan and former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

The GOP front-runner, Trump, will be in the valley for the third time. At 9:00 a.m., he'll meet with FOX News Channel's Sean Hannity for an event at the Phoenix Convention Center. The doors open at 6:00 a.m.  Afterwards, Trump will make his way east for a rally at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills that's scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. Protesters, including union members and members of the Puente group are expected to be there.

Sanders spoke to crowds Thursday night at the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino. He will be in Tucson on Friday and on Saturday, he's speaking in Phoenix at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum near 19th Avenue and McDowell. Doors open at 4:00 p.m.

Former President Bill Clinton will be in Arizona on Sunday. He'll be stumping for his wife, Hillary. The former president will appear in both Phoenix and Tucson. Details on when and where he'll be speaking have not yet been announced.

On Monday, Hillary Clinton will visit Carl Hayden Community High School near Roosevelt Street and 35th Avenue. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
