Trump to deliver immigration speech in Phoenix, activist group organizes protest

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump will be in Arizona on Wednesday to deliver what he's calling a major speech on illegal immigration.

Trump has been softening his stance on immigration over the past few weeks, but there's still plenty of valley activists who don't agree with him and they will be outside the Phoenix Convention Center to protest his visit.

A group called Bazta Arpaio, which is Spanish for Enough Arpaio with a Z added in so it is AZ as in Arizona -- will be protesting outside the rally, taking on the Sheriff over his immigration policies and Trump as well.

Members of the Bazta Arpaio campaign produced posters on Tuesday. They say Alto Al Odio -- Spanish for Stop the Hate. They believe Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio must go.

"I have personally experienced what it means to have families terrorized by Arpaio. My parents.. undocumented.. that is why I am an organizer with Bazta Arpaio campaign," said Norma Jimenez.

Jimenez says she came to the United States from Mexico as a 1-year-old child and graduated from Grand Canyon University. She fears a Trump presidency could crush her American dream.

"Trump and Arpaio are friends. We want him to be held accountable. We won't take his hate and Arpaio's hate," she said.

Bazta Arpaio will make its point of view clear when Trump visits Phoenix to rally supporters and lay out his plans for immigration reform.

"Tomorrow, we are going to be protesting against Trump and Arpaio, saying that our culture trumps their hate and we will be celebrating our culture out there," said Jimenez.

Doors open to the rally at 3 p.m. The group plans to start its protest at 4:30 p.m. and the rally begins at 6:00 p.m.
