Halloween food allergy safety

Phoenix Children's Hospital, along with FOX 10, is proud to introduce the first segment in the series "Smart Parents, Healthy Kids." Dr. Benjamin Wright and Dr. Cindy Bauer, Phoenix Children’s allergy specialists, are joined by Bhanu Jaiswal (father to patients Akshra and Sakshi) to discuss Halloween food allergy safety and allergy care.

In this segment, Dr. Bauer teaches parents about the different signs of food allergies, the most common types of food allergies and how to prepare for the holidays when a child has been diagnosed with a food allergy. Dr. Wright shares some exciting new treatments for kids with peanut allergies and where allergy research is leading us.

Jaiswal shares his experience with having two daughters diagnosed with food allergies, how they’ve coped with their diagnosis, what brought them to Phoenix Children’s and advice for other parents who have children with food-related allergies.
