Kerry Barrett

Kerry Barrett joined the FOX 29 team as a freelance reporter in September 2008, but was made a permanent member of the news team as an anchor and general assignment reporter in September, 2010. In January, 2012, she was named co-anchor of the FOX 29 News at Five, Six and Ten.

Prior to joining FOX 29, Kerry spent five years as co-anchor of "Eyewitness News Today" for KSL in Salt Lake City, UT. Before that, she worked as a reporter, fill-in anchor at KNXV in Phoenix, AZ. Her very first job brought her to the Lonestar state as an anchor/reporter for KFDX in Wichita Falls, TX.

Her career highlights include a two-week assignment to Balad Air Force Base in Iraq, where she produced and reported a 30-part series on the deployment of local airmen. One of those airmen was her husband. It remains her favorite story.

Kerry spent much of her childhood overseas, in Britain and the Middle East. Her education, career and travels have taken her across the globe and to the four corners of the country. But her roots are here in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where her entire family lives.

Kerry earned her bachelor's degree from Clemson University in Clemson, SC and her master's from the University of Florida.

Kerry loves to travel and some of her favorite trips include Cambodia, Thailand and India. She also loves animals and kids and volunteered with an organization that rehabilitates abused horses and uses them for horseback riding therapy for kids with developmental challenges. She's also a proud supporter of our men and women in uniform. Her husband, John, is an F-16 pilot with the New Jersey Air National Guard. They had their first child in November and also share their Center City home with two rescue dogs, Blu and Peanut.
