Church Youth Leader Accused of Child Molestation

A youth ministry leader has been arrested by Mesa Police for 2 counts of sexual conduct with a minor and 3 counts of child molestation.

Police say the victim, a juvenile male, told his relatives he had been molested by Jasmine "J" Omar Brown.

Brown is a youth leader at Family of God Christian Fellowship in Apache Junction. He also works as a full-time teacher's aide who works with special needs children at Phoenix Collegiate Academy.

The boy told his family members that Brown inappropriately touched him on two occasions. He said it occurred during the summer of 2011 when he attended a church summer camp.

During interviews with detectives, Brown allegedly acknowledged these crimes occurred during summer camp where he spent many nights together with the victim.

Prior to working at Phoenix Collegiate Academy since October of 2011, Brown was employed at the Roosevelt School District.

The investigation is ongoing.
