It happened during the Christmas holiday season. Two women, brutally murdered -- and their killer is still on the loose today. Law enforcement needs your help.
Melissa Mason and Nicole Glass were beaten and strangled to death in their home. Seven months have passed, and law enforcement is desperate for details leading to an arrest in this case.
The trail to find a suspect has run cold.
"For someone to just viciously take her life with no regard like she was nothing, that's what hurts the most," says Sandra Minjarez, Melissa Mason's mom.
Sandra Minjarez anticipated her daughter's return to Tucson, but when Melissa's friend Nicole offered her a place to stay to help her save some money, she couldn't pass up the opportunity -- especially being two months pregnant.
"It's not just her life and her friend, but also they took the life of another, my grandbaby," says Minjarez.
"At this time we would have had our children together growing up as we grew up," says Janice Al Delaimi.
According to family members, there have been no matches to the DNA Phoenix police found at the scene. So for now, they're waiting for someone who knows something to come forward with that missing link of information that will let these young women rest in peace and bring their killer to justice.
"Maybe something very small maybe just a hunch or a suspicion but that's what a tip is all about, it's a small thing that might lead to the arrest," says Sgt. Darren Burch from Silent Witness.
"She was full of life and so her life was cut short you know she was cheated out of a lot of things," says Minjarez.
Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or conviction.
