BCS Athlete's Amazing Story of Survival

The BCS National Championship is one of the most anticipated championship matchups in recent years. One of the players taking the field Monday has a remarkable and inspirational story.

Dion Jordan, a defensive end with the University of Oregon was a standout football player at Chandler High School. He's now with the Oregon Ducks.

Jordan received a scholarship to play at Oregon despite suffering serious burns to his hands, arms and body during his senior year at Chandler in a freak accident. It was an accident that could have ended his playing days.

Jordan was using a vacuum to pull gas out of the gas tank of his family's car. A spark set off an small explosion.

Many worried it would mean the end to a promising college career -- but he wasn't worried.

Jordan recovered, but didn't finish the season on the field, he cheered his team from the sidelines. He graduated -- and was still heavily recruited choosing to play at Oregon.

We spoke to Jordan's former coach and his aunt about his recovery, and how it didn't affect his football aspirations. Press play.
