Atlanta Weather Forecast - Labor Day

LABOR DAY:  Happy Labor Day, everyone!  Hope you've had a great holiday weekend.  The final day of the long weekend will bring no major changes to the forecast, which means the continuation of heat, humidity, and a few possible storms.  Expect high temperatures to climb to around 90 degrees this afternoon, with some spots topping out in the lower 90s.  Dew point temperatures will hang around 70 degrees, which means it'll be quite muggy for this time of year.  Otherwise, look for partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.  There's a slight chance for a few storms today, but the best chance for that activity looks to be well south of our forecast area.  In the overnight hours, temperatures will drop to the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies.

TUESDAY: It's back to the grind on Tuesday, and our pattern remains set for the beginning of the work and school week.  That means another partly cloudy to mostly sunny day, with highs climbing into the lower 90s.  Again, expect plenty of humidity, so it will feel quite sticky in the afternoon.  Also, there's a chance for a few showers/storms in the afternoon.  As of now, we're not expecting widespread severe weather, however some of the storms could pack gusty winds and some brief, heavy downpours.  This activity is mainly diurnal in nature, which mean it's dependent on the afternoon heat.  So, by sundown, the activity should be diminishing.

REST OF THE WEEK: If you're not loving the heat and humidity, you might want to stop reading right here!  Looks like no major changes in the weather pattern for the week ahead, which means it will be hot (highs around 90 degrees) and humid each day, with a chance for some afternoon showers/storms.
