Michigan Offers Rebates for Saving Energy

Michigan Energy Options has been awarded a grant from the state of Michigan to provide appliance rebates for natural gas furnaces, propane furnaces, heating oil furnaces, natural gas water heaters, propane water heaters, solar water heaters and ECM / variable speed blower motors. This program is available for units installed beginning August 1, 2010 and will run through December 31, 2010 or until rebate funds have been exhausted.

These rebates along with the federal tax credits mean that you could be saving in excess of $2,000 in incentives towards a new appliance that will wind up saving you money every month you use it!  There literally has never been a better time to think about upgrading to a better furnace or water heater.

For additional information, go to www.michiganenergyoptions.org and see just what your options are and how much you can save. There are rebates of up to $650 for replacing your old, inefficient furnace and up to $300 when installing a high efficiency water heater. These rebates are listed on the same website.

With the cost of energy on the rise, it only makes sense to do everything you can to make your home as energy efficient as possible. With the federal tax credits and the state of Michigan kicking in, it may never be more affordable to ensure that your family does its part to conserve energy and also to keep your money where it belongs… in your wallet.
