PORTALES, N.M. (AP) -- Thieves have picked clean a pumpkin patch that had been tended to by New Mexico preschoolers. Eastern New Mexico University's Child Development Center said the Portales school's pumpkin patch was raided sometime over the weekend after students had worked for months growing the pumpkins. Summer snow covers ground in Denver

DENVER - Technically, it's still summer for a few more days but it's snowing already in Colorado! The Denver area saw a dusting Wednesday and could get a bit more snow as a cold front moves through. Fortunately for residents there, this is just temporary and they'll enjoying 70 degree days again soon.

A caller to 9-1-1 reports an "UFO" on the DC Beltway. That he read on Twitter! Didn't even see himself. A frustrated 9-1-1 operator asks "does it look like a Martian type thing?"
Tells operator she needs to get on Twitter!

You gotta hear it.

Lane marking mess on I-66 eastbound near Centreville, Va.

It was commuter confusion out on Interstate 66 Monday morning. Drivers heading eastbound towards Washington D.C. wound up seeing their traffic lanes suddenly turn into a mess. Lane stripes somehow pulled away from the road surface and created a mess of tangled tape and lanes that didn't make sense.
