Tucson police investigate 2 former golf employees

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A review of all cash register reports from Tucson's beleaguered city golf program have turned up some discrepancies, and now police are trying to determine how much money might be missing.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (http://bit.ly/UngkHb) that police are focusing on two former employees. Both unidentified workers have quit and have not been charged with any crimes, but police say the case remains open.

The investigation started in May, when an official at the Randolph golf complex noticed the previous month's register reports didn't add up. Supervisors then decided to review register reports for all city golf courses.

Discrepancies were also found at the El Rio complex.

At 1 of the golf courses, surveillance video showed one employee taking money from the register and placing it into his pocket.
