Romney on tape is evidence of the desire to just win an election - FOX 10 News | fox10phoenix.com

Romney's outtake: Just another example of a politician wanting nothing more than to win an election

Kraniak the Maniak Opinion

(WJBK-SOUTHFIELD) GOP candidate Mitt Romney screwed up when he was caught on tape saying "There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."

When he says "with him" he's referring to President Obama.  (PLAY THE TAPE)

You can be bothered by what he said here... but what bothers me more is what he said next, that his role "is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

There's some leadership for you.  I'll never convince them.  They won't vote for me, so screw 'em.

How about this: "I believe that the best opportunity for all people is to have a governmental system that rewards people who take care of themselves.  I believe that people can provide their own health care, food, housing and more if the government would just get out of their way. I'd like to help people who get government housing, food and subsidies by creating an environment that provides more jobs.  Then people can take care of themselves.  Here's how I plan to do it."   And then Mr. Romney offer a plan.

At least then people can decide to go with your plan instead of a seemingly "they vs. we" message.

Romney says what a lot of people feel, that too many Americans depend on the government to provide for them.  This point can be argued from all sides.

As a candidate to become the next President of the United States, you can't just point out the problems, whatever you think they are, you need to offer some solutions.

And guess what else, the President is supposed to lead the people.  All of the people. He works for the people.  He serves the people.  As a candidate you say you can't convince 47% of the people and so you won't worry about them.

To me that means you just want to win an election, not serve the people. All the people.

Romney's 'caught on tape moment' is the latest evidence that shows what most politicians really want and that is to win an election instead of solving our nation's problems.

That's my opinion, what's yours?  SOUND OFF BELOW
