Many Phoenix Police officers aren't fans of new uniform policy

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

The new Phoenix Police chief is under fire from rank and file officers.

They're upset with a new policy that forces all Phoenix Police officers to wear the same uniform.

Right now, officers have a choice between the standard dark blue polyester uniform, or one with a polo shirt and cargo pants.

But starting October 1, officers will only be allowed to wear the dark blue polyester uniform.

Officers say the standard uniform is "heavier" and "doesn't breathe as well."

FOX 10's Anita Roman spoke with officers about the change.
