Three teens who ran away from the Sycamore Canyon Academy Boys Ranch have been rescued from a mountainous area of Pinal County.
Two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old ran away from the ranch in Oracle on Sept. 23. The next day, an off-road motorcyclist was in the area of Charleau Gap near Saddlebrooke.
He observed 3 juveniles "acting suspiciously," and they asked him not to call 911. Since they didn't have any water, the motorcyclist called authorities and described the subjects. They matched the descriptions of the runaways.
The boys were rescued by the PCSO Air Unit and deputies on the ground. They admitted to being runaways and were suffering from dehydration.
They were turned back over to Sycamore Canyon Academy Boys Ranch staff and will be ok.
