A man is in custody after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in her own bedroom in the middle of the night.

Early Sunday morning, a woman called 911 to report she had just been sexually assaulted in her room by a stranger.

Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's department responded and were told the victim woke up to an unknown male in her bedroom. He sexually assaulted her and he later left the home.

The victim immediately called 911 and observed the man walking away from her property. She gave deputies his description.

Deputies responded and the evidence led them to a nearby residence. One of the people inside the residence was linked to the crime.

60-year-old Robert Wayne Wilson is a registered sex offender and is currently on parole. He was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on charges of sexual assault, second degree burglary and kidnapping.
