Would you be willing to shell out $100 to bring a carry-on bag onto a flight? Not a checked bag -- a carry-on.
Some people flying out of Mesa-Gateway on Spirit Airlines will be forced to pay that, under certain circumstances.
Starting next month, if you don't pay for your carry-on bag in advance, customers would be forced to fork over $100 at the gate.
The airline says it's their way of persuading customers to pay up front, instead of doing it at the gate and slowing down the boarding process.
The good news is, you can still carry a personal item on flights for free, as long as it fits under your seat.
