UGA players' home egged after loss

Posted: Updated:

For several University of Georgia football players, an already tough loss to South Carolina on Saturday night followed them home to Athens.  The house shared by players including quarterback Aaron Murray and linebacker Christian Robinson was targeted by vandals.

Robinson tweeted Sunday that their house had been "egged and rolled."  He added, "Seems that people turn on you when you're not perfect. Thought we were in this together."
The Bulldogs lost 35-7 to South Carolina, causing them to fall from No. 5 to No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll on Sunday.
Murray also tweeted about the incident, adding, "Yep, what a great thing to come home to for us."  But that's not all of the bad news for the Bulldogs' QB.  He learned Sunday that his father has cancer, and quickly rushed to Tampa, Fla. to be by his side when he underwent surgery on Monday.

On Twitter, Murray said, "Probably the worst 12 hours of my life but I know my family will push through. Keep my dad in your prayers please."

Many fans in Athens told FOX 5 they were outraged at the attack on their players.  Neighbors and teammates came out Sunday to help clean up the mess the vandals left behind.
