It's that time of year again. Corn dogs, turkey legs, and anything you could possibly imagine deep fried -- the state fair opens Friday.
We got a sneak peak of some of the new stuff, and there's something for everyone -- something for the kids, something for football fans, and something for those serious about their food.
If you're a thrill seeker, you'll probably want to check out the 50 foot tall zip line.
"I believe it starts to the north end of the building and then you zip down the avenue and then zip to the south end over Food Avenue where people like to sit down," says Kristi Walsh, Marketing Director.
Maybe you're more interested in the food. How about meat?
"They call it the big rib. Its impressive Kelly, we have a giant 2-pound rib on a seventeen inch bone. It's wonderful it's tender it's delicious," says Dominic Palmieri, Midway Gourmet.
And what about that maggot sandwich that was the talk of last year's fair?
You won't see it this year -- the only insects you'll see are giant ones that light up and move. It's called Behemoth Bug Land.
"They decided to get rid of maggot melt and instead have a ginormous preying mantis. These bugs don't have to fear, we're not going to eat them. kids will love it," says Walsh.
And sports fans, there's something for you too. At the Verizon Training Ground, you too can train to be an NFL football star.
