TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County sheriff's officials say an inmate escaped from a minimum security facility but was captured hours later.
Deputy Tom Paine said a news release early that Cesar Lowe ran away as he was being moved from one facility to another at the Pima County Adult Detention Center on Wednesday evening.
Paine says Lowe was found and captured early Thursday with the help of sheriff's deputies and Tucson police.
Lowe was serving a six-month sentence for felony theft of means of transportation and a misdemeanor theft charge. He was to be released in February 2013.
The county says Lowe has a criminal record that includes a 2½-year prison sentence for burglary.
