PHOENIX -

A barricade situation came to an end Tuesday after a man was taken into custody for accidentally shooting his aunt, according to police.

This happened near 27th Avenue and Missouri.

Authorities say the shooting actually happened last week and the 19-year-old was on the run since then, but he returned in an attempt to apologize to his aunt.  According to the police, no one was seriously injured in that incident.

"He was hurt..he accidentally shot me and all he wants to do was tell me he was sorry..and he got to tell me he was sorry," said the aunt.

Someone who lived at the Mountain View apartment complex called 911 after the unarmed man went into one of the units and would not come out.

His family says he was scared.

Police were able to take him into custody without incident and there's no word yet if he will face any charges.

The man's name was not released.

This is a developing story.  Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
