Media, gawker circus continues at Kelley's Bayshore home

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

It's easily the most popular house on the block. Jill and Scott Kelley's Bayshore Boulevard mansion has become front row center for the media covering the David Petraeus affair scandal.

As many as 16 different media outlets from all over the country are outside the home, including Charles Humphries.

"We're a Tampa bay area media group so, whether it's a good or bad story we're going to cover it for our readers," said Humphries.

Which makes sense, until you realize Charles writes for Full Throttle, a local motorcycle magazine.

"We venture outside the realm of the motorcycle enthusiast," Humphries explained.

Reporters aren't the only ones interested. Cars slow down, Bayshore joggers stop to take pictures and even neighbors can't get enough of the circus-like atmosphere.

"People love the drama and gossip," said Dyana Monzl.

Monzl is a hair stylist who lives a couple blocks away from the Kelleys. She came out to get video of the madness surrounding her neighbor's home.

"A little too silly when they're like hiding out in the alley," said Monzl.

But why are so many people obsessed? Some say it's because of the story, but others say they have their own reasons.

"This house is gorgeous and we knew reporters were going to be out here, so we were hoping to get on TV," said Kimmy Walker, who came out on her lunch break.

No matter the reason, they're coming out to take a peek, and it doesn't look like the gawkers will stop anytime soon.

"You turn on Fox, you turn on any of the major news networks it's one of the tops stories. How are we going to pass that up?" said Humphries.
