Vigil Held for Gunned Down West Philly Woman

Posted: Updated:
West Philadelphia -

Family and friends of 22-year-old Zykia Sanders held an emotional candle light vigil at the very West Philadelphia spot where she was gunned down early Saturday morning.

"She has a lot of love (here)," said her grandmother Barbara Sanders.

"She was just like a daughter," she said.

"I remember her with my grand kids and I love her," said her aunt Rose Sanders.

Family members say Zykia Sanders was leaving a party when gunshots rang out. Police do not believe she was the intended target.

There is no clear motive for the shooting and police have not made any arrests.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to give them a call at 215.686.3334.
