Winners get frozen turkeys in school race

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Students can complete their family's Thanksgiving meal if they win a valley school's Turkey Trot.

Tonalea Elementary School is hosting its eighth Turkey Trot on Wednesday.

Student runners in each grade level race to win frozen turkeys donated by local neighbors, businesses and sister schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.

The race was originally started to increase parent involvment but has turned into a yearly tradition.

FOX 10's Diane Ryan reports.
