GILBERT, Ariz. -

A woman who allegedly tried to run over her husband because he didn't vote pleaded not guilty on Wednesday morning.

Gilbert police say 28-year-old Holly Solomon and her husband got into a heated argument because she found out he didn't vote in the presidential election.

Their screaming match escalated, and 36-year-old Daniel Solomon was eventually pinned beneath the couple's SUV and the curb.

Solomon later told police she only meant to scare her husband and that she tried to hit the brakes, not the gas.

Solomon said she believed her family was going to face hardship as a result of President Obama's re-election and blamed ObamaCare for her actions, police say.

Holly Solomon is charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault.

Her next appearance in court is Jan. 11.
