Deputies say they arrested a father and son after they assaulted a 21-year-old man on Thursday.
The suspects, 46-year-old Dennis Simmons Jr. and 18-year-old Dylan Simmons, allegedly drove up to a man walking on a street in the 4400 block of Puerto Verde Drive and started assaulting him.
The victim told deputies Dennis Simmons Jr. had an assault rifle and Dylan Simmons had a baseball bat during the assault.
Afterward, the two men left in a Ford F150 truck.
The 21-year-old victim refused medical treatment.
Deputies say a witness told them she looked outside when she heard tires screeching and saw her brother, Dennis Simmons Jr., and his son, Dylan Simmons, assault the victim.
Deputies found both suspects at a house in the area and told them to come out. Dylan Simmons came out of the house and was taken into custody.
Dennis Simmons Jr. eventually came out of the home but yelled and cursed at deputies, they said. He was taken into custody and both suspects were booked into a jail.
Dennis Simmons Jr. faces aggravated assault and disorderly conduct with a weapon charges and Dylan Simmons faces assault and disorderly conduct charges.
