WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two men with their faces covered and one armed with a handgun jumped over the teller counter and a bank employee's desk to rob a west suburban bank Tuesday.

About 5:30 p.m., the men entered the West Suburban Bank branch at 221 S. West St. in Wheaton, according to the FBI. They went to employee areas of the bank, one by jumping over the teller counter, and took money from the safe and teller drawers.

The pair left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, the FBI said. No injuries were reported.

Witnesses said the robbers were black males, age unknown. One was between 5 foot-6 and 5-foot-8 with a medium build. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black boots, black mask, black gloves and was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

The second suspect was between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10-a slim build. During the robbery, he wore a red jacket with a white insignia on the upper left chest area, a white hood, blue jeans, white Nike gym shoes and purple gloves.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or local police.

There have been at least 203 bank robberies in the area this year, according to the FBI. Last year there were 115.
