Bus full of holiday gifts delivered to refugee families

A bright red double-decker bus delivered holiday gifts to refugee families on Saturday.

With the help of London Bus Company, the International Rescue Committee assembled more than 30 volunteers to load and deliver gifts to refugees.

The first round of gifts went to refugees living at Biltmore Pointe apartment complex and the second round were given to people living in various apartment complexes throughout Phoenix.

The IRC has an annual Holiday Giving Campaign where they provide gifts to men, women and children who are forced to flee their countries of origin because of political instability, armed conflict or other acts of violence.

Refugees often arrive in the U.S. with dreams of hope and stability, but few possessions. The IRC hopes to make it easier for these people to adapt to their new lives.
