Emily, leukemia patient who left PCH: "I feel better"

Posted: Updated:

There's an update on the little girl removed from Phoenix Children's Hospital in the middle of her leukemia treatment.

Her mother took her from the hospital, still connected to her IV and catheter. It sparked a major search by Phoenix Police.

A few weeks ago we learned she and her family were in Mexico. Emily Bracamontes is receiving treatment at a hospital in Mexicali, Mexico, just across the California border.

Despite concerns by police that her life was in danger -- she says she's doing better at a Mexican hospital than at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

"I felt very sick that they weren't helping me that much but here they're helping me a lot and I feel better. Here, they know that.''

Police had considered child endangerment charges for Emily's mother for removing her with a catheter attached -- something doctors feared could get infected and endanger her life.
