Police say they arrested a 34-year-old man after he gave marijuana to kids to sell on Wednesday.
Officers in an unmarked car saw an exchange between two people in a parking lot near 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road that they thought looked like drug activity.
Police attempted to stop both cars, but they say Antonio Muraira continued driving his car for almost a mile before stopping.
Muraira told police he didn't have a gun inside the car, but when officers searched the car, they found a gun and marijuana hidden underneath the center console.
Both of Muraira's passengers denied knowing about what happened.
Muraira was recently released from the Department of Corrections and the two passengers had felony convictions, meaning all three men weren't allowed to have a gun in their possession.
After police interviewed the passengers in the second car, police say they told them Muraira and his passenge5rs arranged for them to sell marijuana for them. All of that car's passengers were under 18-years-old. Police say they found about one pound of marijuana in their car that they claimed came from Muraira's car.
Muraira faces eight charges related to illegal gun and marijuana possession.
