Winter weather problems could delay air travel

PHOENIX -

Rain and snow in northern California, thunderstorms and tornadoes in Alabama damaged homes, power lines and tore up trees.  Thousands of customers were left in the dark.

A possible twister in Louisiana toppled trees onto homes.

There were at least three tornadoes in Texas, but not a lot of damage.

Across the middle of the country, blizzard conditions in several states.  Icy roads are blamed for a 21-car pileup in Oklahoma.

Drivers in Atlanta dealt with fog and that state is set to get the same storm system tomorrow.

The storms have left at least three dead this holiday.

Heavy snow and freezing rain are making road travel dangerous and forcing airlines to ground hundreds of planes. More than half of them into and out of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.
