Valley firefighters kept busy after a couple of fires broke out Thursday night.
Phoenix firefighters first responded to a fire at a cafe just after 9 p.m. at the Acacia Cafe near Indian School Road and 36th Street.
Officials say when crews arrived at the scene, they saw smoke coming from the cafe's roof, but since the it was connected to two other businesses, they were concerned about the flames spreading.
Crews say the blaze started near one of the air conditioning units inside the attic shared by all three businesses.
A hole was cut in the roof to get some of the smoke out of the building and they were able to put out the flames quickly.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, crews were called to another attic fire at a home near 32nd Avenue and Glendale.
We don't have a lot of details about the fire, but we do know that some people were treated for smoke inhalation. It's not known if they lived in the home or not.
Fire officials say there were several animals in the home's attic when it went up in flames, but aren't sure if any of them were injured.
The cause of that fire is still under investigation.
