Driver sought in motorcycle hit-and-run

Posted: Updated:

Two people riding on a motorcycle were hurt after they were involved in a collision with a car on Sunday night.

Scottsdale police say a man and a woman were riding on a motorcycle when a dark colored sedan pulled out in front of them from a private drive near Scottsdale Road and Earll Drive.

Police say the motorcycle hit the sedan and the car took off from the scene. The search for the sedan's driver is ongoing.

Both the 52-year-old man and 50-year-old woman were taken to a hospital with life threatening injuries. As of Monday, the driver of the motorcycle's condition is no longer considered life-threatening, however the female passenger's condition remains the same.

Officers say both victims weren't wearing helmets. They also believe speed and alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.

Scottsdale Road southbound at Earll Drive was closed for a few hours during the investigation.

A witness to the event stated that the car was a gray Chevy Camaro with damage to the rear bumper and a broken rear window. The vehicle has Arizona plate AWS7877.

The driver of the Camaro is described as a white male in his 20s, 6' tall, 200lbs with brown hair and a beard. He also has tattoos on his hands and wrists.

There was a female passenger in the vehicle that is described as white, in her 20s with short dark hair and blonde highlights. Both were dressed in black clothing.
