SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 75-year-old man was killed today in a hit-and-run collision while on his morning walk in Santa Ana, police said.
Miguel Chavez Ceja had been visiting with family since September and was due to return home to Mexico soon, Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
Police were called about 6:40 a.m. to Stanford Street and Orange Avenue, Bertagna said. Ceja was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were looking for a dark blue 1995 BMW 740iL, Bertagna said. The sedan's driver's-side mirror was ripped off in the collision and left behind, leading investigators to pinpoint the hit-and-run vehicle's make and model, Bertagna said.
