Controversial 'Django Unchained' Action Figures Pulled

Posted: Updated:

Is everybody just a little too touchy or did a line of action figures from a popular movie cross the line?

The studio behind "Django Unchained" has halted production on a line of action figures based on the violent film about a former slave on a mission to free his wife from slavery.

Several African American groups had called for a boycott of the dolls, complaining the toys trivialized the horrors of slavery.

The Weinstein Company said it was never their intent to offend anyone. Only about 1,000 dolls were produced.

Civil rights activist Najee Ali had called them "a slap in the face of our ancestors."

By the way, the Django character played by Jamie Foxx is now going on Amazon for more than $900,000.
