The day before the "big game"

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

It is almost here! The Atlanta Falcons are hosting the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC Championship; a game that will determine who will go to the Super Bowl. A lot of things were happening the day before the big game throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Barbara Babineaux, mother to Atlanta Falcon tackle Jonathan Babineaux, arrived in Atlanta on Saturday.  She planned on making her son a big meal that evening to help prepare for the big game.

A pep rally hosted by Falcons "super fan" Carolyn Freeman happened on Saturday. Carolyn is better known to most as the Bird Lady. She is one of the most recognized fans dressing in her signature wings and feathers since 1998.

Tailgaters started to pour into the lots around the Georgia Dome Saturday. Many are hoping for two days of partying leading up to the big game.

Restaurants around the area have also prepared for the game stocking up to bring Falcon fans wings, pizza, and other favorites.

Several sporting goods stores also have received their shipments of NFC Championship shirts. The shirts boxes won't be opened until the game is over, so they sit and wait for the big game.
