Ex Ariz adult-care worker pleads guilty to forgery

Updated:

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A former patient-care technician who worked at a Marana adult-care home has pleaded guilty to forgery.

Pima County prosecutors say 48-year-old Lisa Marie Boone-Scott could be placed on probation or given a prison term of up to nearly four years when she's sentenced April 1.

Under terms of her plea agreement, Boone-Scott must pay the victim almost $4,200 in restitution.

Boone-Scott was arrested last October after being accused of stealing more than $4,000 from a 91-year-old patient.

She allegedly forged 2 of the victim's checks for a total of $1,666 and made five unauthorized ATM withdrawals for $2,500 between May and August that were captured on bank surveillance tapes.

The Arizona Daily Star says Boone-Scott has prior convictions and has served a prison term in California for similar offenses.
