Interactive foam art at Scottsdale Arts Festival

Posted: Updated:

The 43rd annual Scottsdale Arts Festival will feature nearly 200 artists at the Scottsdale Civic Center Park this weekend.

You can find painting, sculpture, glass and ceramics, jewelry, photography and more at the festival this Friday through Sunday.

Works of art are available for purchase directly from the artists and through the festival's online art auction.

More than 20 local bands will play around the clock while attendees browse the art.

In addition to the festival, Scottsdale Public Art will present Pink and Blue Dilemma: The Foam Incident by Baltimore artist Scott Pennington.

The interactive work of art allows visitors to play in imagined "industrial waste" made from non-toxic, water-based soap suds as Pennington's technicians try to keep it contained. Kids will enjoy playing in the huge bubbles of foam.

Thirty-minute-long 'foam incidents' will occur five times a day throughout the festival.
