Hellon named new Pima County Superior Court clerk

PHOENIX (AP) - Former Arizona legislator Toni Hellon has been named the new clerk for the Pima County Superior Court.

Her appointment was announced Friday by Gov. Jan Brewer.

Hellon will replace Patricia Noland, who is retiring at the end of this month.

Noland is a former state lawmaker who was first elected court clerk in 1998 and last re-elected in 2010.

Hellon has served for six years as chief deputy clerk for Pima County.

She was an executive assistant to Pima County Supervisor Mike Boyd from 1998-2000 and chief deputy recorder for Pima County from 1989-1992.

Hellon was elected to the Arizona Senate in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

She is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
