Several Tweets and Facebook comments posted late Tuesday afternoon reported shaking along the Jersey Shore.

The U.S. Geological Survey hasn't confirmed whether or not the shaking even happened.

According to the comments on Twitter and Facebook, the shaking occurred in the Wildwood and Cape May areas.

Derrick Pitts of the Franklin Institute spoke to FOX 29's Thomas Drayton about the possibility of a sonic boom. You can listen to his interview in the video above.
