PHILADELPHIA -

Police in Philadelphia and members of the FBI are searching for the man who handed two bank tellers threatening notes in two separate bank robberies Wednesday morning.

According to police, the first robbery happened in Lawndale at the Bank of America on the 6000 block of Rising Sun Avenue shortly after 10 a.m. Investigators say a man handed a teller a threatening note, but was not able to obtain money.

In another attempt at 10:43 a.m., police say the man entered the Citizens Bank on the 7000 block of Frankford Avenue in Holmesburg and handed another teller a demand note.

In this case, police say the man was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen headed south on Frankford Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his early to late 30s, standing 5'9" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray Phillies hat, a gray jacket and a sweatshirt.

If you have any information, you're asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
