Phillies Tuning Up Before Opening Day In South Philly

The sights, the sounds, and don't forget about the smells.

Baseball season is finally back. And fans and vendors are more than ready.

Tonight's exhibition game against the Blue Jays brought thousands of fans out to the park to see their favorite players, even if the weather doesn't quite feel like it should be baseball season yet.

"It is baseball season it does come early and we'll have a few cold days but it'll warm up with the crack of the bat," says Greg Luzinski.

The former Phillie and World Series champ still has fans asking for his autograph but says he's just as happy in the stands now as he was on the field.

"I know they'd love to get off tons great start to show people in this division they belong here and they're gonna win a few games and I'm excited about this club and I think they're gonna play well."

The Hines family was among the thousands who got here hours early for Phillies on Deck, hoping to see batting practice and a chance to catch a few fly balls.

"I grew up with the Phillies, been away for a while with the military, came back and now were back to see the Phillies," explains Dwayde Hines.

And even before opening day, we're hearing predictions.

"Everybody's back healthy we got Howard back, Utley back, the pitchers are all healthy and we're cheering for them to go all the way."

The second exhibition game is Saturday at 1:05 and opening day against Atlanta is on Monday.
